After reviewing the All Cougars Succeed (ACS) Matrices for each location in the 500 Building, students in Miss Mackowsky’s class worked together to show what they remember about behavior expectations.
The students created skits and comics to show the importance of following expectations of being accountable, compassionate, and safe throughout the halls, on the bus, in the classroom, and all around Collegium.
One student, Emma-Lynn B. enjoyed the ACS project, saying, “I liked working with my friends and including others in our skit. It was fun to act out what not to do since we don’t usually act that way. I wasn’t embarrassed because we were all acting and being silly!”
Another student, Mehki D. talked about how much he enjoyed working with the online comic builder, Pixton. He said, “It was fun to use Pixton. The animations are really cool and I liked being able to use my own character in the comic.”
All 500 Building students from any class can now walk past Miss Mackowsky’s bulletin board and be reminded of the ACS expectations. Miss Mackowsky recalled, “It is important to review these expectations as we return to school after Winter Break to ensure that the students maintain the routine that we have worked on in the first half of the year.”
