Introducing Our New Athletic Director

Collegium is so happy to introduce our new Athletic Director, Sarah Kurpel (center in photo)! Sarah joins our Assistant to the Director of Athletics & Extra-Curricular Programs, Mr. Eskul Koliyah ’10 (left in photo), and CCS Athletic Trainer, Mr. Alex Hadulias (right in photo).
Sarah obtained her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Neumann University. She was also a student-athlete, balancing her studies while playing Field Hockey and Lacrosse (plus time well spent with their Jazz Band, too).

From teaching to coaching, Kurpel has done it all! She started her career as an 8th Grade teacher and also became the Head Field Hockey (11 seasons) and Women’s Lacrosse (5 seasons) Coach. Then, as an Athletic Director, Kurpel honed her experience with Penn State Brandywine and at Mastery Schools as a Network Director of Athletics and Extracurricular Programs before arriving at Collegium.
“Thank you to Ms. Barber, the 435 Leadership Team, and our Principals for selecting me as the next Athletic Director at Collegium Charter School,” said Sarah. “I am excited to work alongside with our dedicated athletics staff, Eskul and Alex, our coaches, and students. Our department is committed to serving our students’ athletic needs in their pursuit to become productive global citizens. With the help of our Administrators and coaching staff, we will reinvigorate and grow our athletic opportunities in our schools. Go Cougars!”
