During their Spanish WIN Integration, students in Ms. Craven’s class watched a video that taught them ten things about Day of the Dead – a two-day holiday that celebrates the deceased.
After the movie, students created sugar skulls with paint using symmetry. This project allowed students to learn about other holidays and cultures that are celebrated around the world.
When Ms. Craven’s students were asked what they enjoyed most about the project, Kyla G. said, “What I liked most about it was that we had to keep folding it [the paper] instead of just drawing it. I also liked that you could decorate it any way you wanted and that they were not the same!”
