Our High School students have been working tirelessly on some intense STEM projects lately!
Students in Mr. Cotter’s Robotics I class are currently designing robots to compete in a ball collection and storage challenge that compares strength, speed, and versatility. As of now, the class is on the fifth iteration of their designs.
In addition to Robotics I, students in Mr. Stottlemyer’s Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Principles of Engineering class are also working on an extensive activity. They are prototyping original designs, after completing the development of a VEX-based testbed. Their prototypes include a switch-based musical keyboard and a crane.
Mr. Stottlemyer said, “It’s exciting to witness the growth in students’ designs! Every time they test their prototypes, they find opportunities to improve. With every improvement, they find better ways to solve problems.”
